‘For my part, I travel not to go anywhere but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.’
‘We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.’
A residency with Roding Valley High School, Loughton, Essex, as part of Essex County Council’s ‘Artists in Education’ training course from February - July 1999. The residency explored the journeys we go on in our heads and in our imaginations. As part of the training I was partnered with Marilyn Jackson, the then head of art at the above school. She was an inspiration.
