About the project
workshops, 2003 A series of workshops with a group of young Muslim women at Union Street Centre for Young People. The work they produced was their response to an exhibition about the veil at Modern Art Oxford. The project was funded by Oxford City Council youth services. ‘Veil: Veiling, Representation and Contemporary Art’, Modern Art Oxford, 20 September 2003 – 25 January 2004‘The first exhibition solely devoted to exploring the representation of the veil, its politics and poetics, in contemporary art.’
